Zhemgang Town

The administrative capital of Zhemgang district in south-central Bhutan, located at approximately 1,905 m elevation on a ridge overlooking the Mangde Chhu valley. Zhemgang is one of Bhutan's least developed and most sparsely populated district capitals, surrounded by dense subtropical and temperate forests rich in wildlife. The town centers around Zhemgang Dzong and serves as an access point for Royal Manas National Park and the remote Trong and Nangkor gewogs. The district is known for its rich biodiversity, traditional woodcraft, and cane and bamboo products.
