Zhemgang Hospital

The district hospital serving Zhemgang Dzongkhag, one of Bhutan's most remote and least developed districts in the south-central region. With approximately 20 beds, it provides general medicine, maternal and child health, basic surgery, dental care, and emergency services to a catchment population of about 17,700 across eight gewogs. The hospital is critical for healthcare access in a district where rugged terrain and limited road connectivity mean many communities are a day's walk from the nearest health facility.
