Wangdue Phodrang Hospital

The district hospital for Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag, Bhutan's largest district by area at over 4,300 square kilometers. Located in the town of Bajo, it operates approximately 30 beds serving a population of over 42,000 spread across fifteen gewogs from the subtropical Punatsangchhu valley to the highland Phobjikha Valley. The hospital provides general medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, dental care, and emergency services. Cases requiring specialist care are referred to JDWNRH in Thimphu, about three hours away by road.
