Bhutan's largest national park at 4,914 km², established in 2008 to commemorate 100 years of Wangchuck monarchy. Spanning Bumthang, Lhuentse, Wangdue Phodrang, Trongsa, and Gasa districts with elevations from 1,500 m to over 7,000 m, it protects critical habitat for snow leopards, tigers, red pandas, and takin. The park encompasses the remote Lunana region traversed by the Snowman Trek and serves as a vital biological corridor linking Jigme Dorji National Park to the north with Thrumshingla National Park to the east.
