Trashigang Traditional Medicine Unit

The traditional medicine unit for Trashigang Dzongkhag, eastern Bhutan's most populous district. Staffed by trained Drungtsho and Menpa, the unit provides pulse diagnosis, herbal medicine dispensing, and moxibustion therapy free of charge as part of Bhutan's integrated healthcare system. The unit serves a culturally diverse population including the Brokpa communities of Merak and Sakteng, who have their own deep traditions of herbal healing that complement the formalized Sowa Rigpa system.
