Trans Bhutan Trail

A historic 403 km trail connecting Haa in the west to Trashigang in the east, originally used for centuries as Bhutan's primary communication and trade route before the national highway was built in the 1960s. Restored and reopened in 2022 with support from the Tourism Council of Bhutan, the trail passes through 28 gewogs across 9 dzongkhags, linking cultural sites including dzongs, temples, stupas, and traditional villages. The full trek takes approximately 30 days but can be walked in shorter segments.
