Thimphu Dzongkhag Administration

The local government body administering Thimphu District, the most populous of Bhutan's 20 dzongkhags with over 115,000 residents. Headed by the Dzongdag (district administrator), it coordinates gewog (sub-district) administration, local development planning, land management, infrastructure maintenance, and delivery of government services across the capital district. The office sits within the Tashichho Dzong complex, sharing the fortress with the central government and the monastic body.
