A monumental statue of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) located at Takila in Lhuentse district, standing approximately 52 metres tall and visible from a great distance across the Kuri Chhu valley. The statue, completed in the 2000s, is one of the largest Guru Rinpoche statues in the world and has become a landmark of the district. Surrounded by 108 smaller stupas, the site serves as both a pilgrimage destination and a symbol of the deep Buddhist faith of the Kurtoep people of Lhuentse.
