The oldest and largest institution of higher learning in Bhutan, tracing its origins to a public school founded in 1968 with Jesuit assistance from Darjeeling. Initially affiliated with Delhi University before joining RUB in 2003, it offers bachelor's degrees in arts, sciences, commerce, development economics, and environmental science to over 1,500 students. Its name means "peak of knowledge" in Dzongkha, and the hilltop campus sits at approximately 2,000 meters elevation.
