Samtse Traditional Medicine Unit

A unit providing traditional Bhutanese medicine (Sowa Rigpa) services within the Samtse district health system. The unit dispenses herbal medicines and offers traditional treatments as a complement to modern healthcare available at Samtse Hospital. In the diverse southern border district of Samtse, where Nepali-origin Lhotshampa, Ngalop, and other communities coexist, traditional Bhutanese medicine operates alongside both modern medicine and South Asian Ayurvedic traditions familiar to many residents.
