Samtse District Court

The dzongkhag court of Samtse district, one of the busiest district courts in Bhutan given Samtse's status as the most populous dzongkhag. The court handles a high volume of civil and criminal cases including land disputes, cross-border trade disagreements, and family law matters. Presided over by a Drangpon appointed by the King, the court conducts proceedings in Dzongkha and Nepali, reflecting the large Lhotshampa population of the district. The court operates under the oversight of the Royal Court of Justice.
