Phobjikha BHU

The Basic Health Unit serving communities in the Phobjikha Valley, Phobji Gewog, Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag. Located in the glacial valley that serves as the winter roosting ground for endangered black-necked cranes migrating from Tibet, the BHU provides primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, immunizations, and basic emergency care. The facility serves farming communities in the valley and surrounding hillsides at approximately 2,900 meters elevation, with referrals directed to Wangdue Phodrang Hospital in Bajo.
