One of Bhutan's oldest tourist hotels, originally built by the Royal Government to accommodate guests attending the coronation of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck in 1974. Set on a forested hillside above Paro with panoramic valley views, the property features cottages and main building rooms in traditional Bhutanese style surrounded by mature pine trees. While the rooms are modest by modern standards, Olathang holds historical significance as a pioneer of Bhutan's tourism infrastructure and retains an atmospheric charm.
