Mongar Hospital

While the Eastern Regional Referral Hospital in Mongar handles tertiary care for all six eastern dzongkhags, the district-level health services for Mongar Dzongkhag's own population of over 37,000 are also administered from the Mongar campus. The district health services cover sixteen gewogs through a network of Basic Health Units and outreach clinics, focusing on primary care, immunization programs, maternal health, and disease surveillance. Mongar's position on the east-west highway makes it a critical node in Bhutan's public health infrastructure.
