Merak-Sakteng Trek

A unique 5-7 day cultural trek in eastern Bhutan visiting the remote Brokpa communities of Merak and Sakteng villages within Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary. The semi-nomadic Brokpa people maintain a distinct culture with unique yak-hair clothing, animistic spiritual practices, and their own dialect. The trail crosses Nyakchung La pass at 4,100 m through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows, offering an immersive ethnographic experience found nowhere else in Bhutan.
