Kuensel

Bhutan's oldest and most widely circulated newspaper, founded as a government bulletin in 1967. It evolved from a monthly internal newsletter to a weekly and later daily publication, gaining editorial independence when corporatized as Kuensel Corporation Limited in 1992. Published in English, Dzongkha, and Nepali editions, its online edition at kuenselonline.com is one of the most-read English-language news sources on Bhutan worldwide, and the paper played a pivotal role during Bhutan's transition to constitutional monarchy in 2008.
