A primary school in Khoma gewog, the village celebrated throughout Bhutan and internationally as the heartland of Kishuthara (kushuthara) weaving, the finest textile tradition in the country. The school provides classes from pre-primary through class VI to children of the weaving community. Many students grow up watching their mothers and grandmothers produce intricate silk brocade textiles on backstrap looms, learning the art alongside their formal education.
