Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan

Bhutan's first and only medical university, established by royal charter and named after King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. The university offers MBBS, nursing, public health, and traditional medicine programs, aiming to reduce Bhutan's dependence on overseas medical training for its doctors and health workers. Affiliated with the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital as its teaching hospital, KGUMSB represents a major milestone in Bhutan's healthcare capacity building.
