Karmaling Shedra

A Buddhist philosophical college (shedra) in Bumthang district, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan containing many of the oldest and most sacred temples in the country. The shedra provides advanced Buddhist studies in Drukpa Kagyu philosophy, debate, and meditation for monks who have completed basic monastic education. Bumthang's numerous monasteries and temples, established by Guru Padmasambhava and the great tertön Pema Lingpa, create an exceptionally rich environment for spiritual study and practice.
