The second highest court in Bhutan's judicial hierarchy, functioning as the court of appeal for all dzongkhag courts and tribunals. Established under the Constitution of 2008, it is composed of eight Drangpon (justices) including the Chief Justice of the High Court, appointed by the King. The court hears appeals in civil and criminal matters and exercises original jurisdiction in cases involving fundamental rights and constitutional questions referred to it.
