The administrative capital of Haa district in western Bhutan, nestled in the pristine Haa Valley at approximately 2,670 m elevation between Paro and the western border with Tibet. One of Bhutan's least-visited and most traditional towns, Haa was only opened to tourists in 2002 and retains an unspoiled character with traditional farmhouses and three ancient temples known as the "Three Brothers" — Lhakhang Karpo (white), Lhakhang Nagpo (black), and the ruined middle temple. The town hosts the annual Haa Summer Festival celebrating nomadic pastoral traditions.
