The venue for the annual Haa Summer Festival (Haa Tsechu), held each July to celebrate the nomadic herding traditions and living culture of the Haa Valley. Unlike Bhutan's more religious tsechus, the Haa festival emphasizes local customs including traditional cuisine tastings (especially hoentay dumplings), yak-herding demonstrations, archery competitions, and traditional Haa songs. The festival was created to promote cultural tourism in the valley after it opened to foreign visitors in 2002.
