The primary referral facility for Bhutan's six eastern dzongkhags — Mongar, Lhuentse, Trashigang, Trashi Yangtse, Pemagatshel, and Samdrup Jongkhar — serving a catchment population of approximately 170,000. The hospital has around 180 beds and provides specialty services including general surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, ophthalmology, ENT, and diagnostic imaging.
