Drukgyel Lower Secondary School

A primary and lower secondary school situated in the upper Paro Valley near the ruins of the historic Drukgyel Dzong, which was built in 1649 to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invaders. The school serves farming communities in the upper valley area and provides education from pre-primary through class VIII. Its location at the upper end of the Paro Valley, near the starting point of the Jomolhari Trek, gives students a unique connection to both Bhutanese history and the Himalayan landscape.
