One of Bhutan's most popular treks, this 5-day route connects Paro to Thimphu across a ridgeline reaching approximately 4,200 m, passing through blue pine and rhododendron forests with panoramic views of Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. The trail passes several high-altitude alpine lakes including Jimilangtso and Janetsho, sacred to local communities and surrounded by dwarf rhododendron and juniper scrub. Best undertaken March-June or September-November, the trek is accessible to moderately fit hikers with chances of spotting Himalayan monal pheasants and musk deer.
