A state-owned enterprise under Druk Holding and Investments that manages Bhutan's hydropower assets — the backbone of the national economy accounting for roughly 30% of government revenue and over 70% of export earnings. DGPC operates four major plants: Chhukha (336 MW), Kurichhu (60 MW), Basochhu (64 MW), and Tala (1,020 MW), with a combined installed capacity exceeding 1,480 MW exported primarily to India. New mega-projects including Punatsangchhu-I and Punatsangchhu-II will more than double generation capacity upon completion.
