A historically significant monastery in Pema Gatshel district associated with the great treasure-revealer Pema Lingpa (1450-1521), one of Bhutan's most revered Buddhist saints. The monastery is a site of local veneration and pilgrimage, containing sacred relics and wall paintings. Pema Lingpa's spiritual legacy pervades eastern Bhutanese Buddhism, and Denchi Goenpa is one of several sites in the region that preserve his teachings and terma (hidden treasure) tradition.
