Bumthang Traditional Medicine Unit

The traditional medicine unit serving Bumthang Dzongkhag, located alongside the district hospital in Jakar. This unit provides Sowa Rigpa services including pulse diagnosis, herbal medicine, and moxibustion to the communities of Bumthang's four gewogs. The highland climate and rich forests of Bumthang are home to numerous medicinal plant species used in traditional Bhutanese pharmacology, and the unit supports local collection and processing of these herbs. Traditional healing holds particular significance in Bumthang, which is considered one of Bhutan's most sacred valleys.
