Bumthang Hospital

The district hospital serving Bumthang Dzongkhag in central Bhutan, located in the town of Jakar at approximately 2,600 meters elevation. With around 25 beds, it provides general medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, basic surgery, dental services, and emergency care to a catchment population of approximately 17,800 across Bumthang's four gewogs. As the healthcare hub for central Bhutan's highland communities and a growing number of tourists visiting the region's ancient temples and the Ura Valley, the hospital plays a vital role in Bhutan's free public health system.
