Bathpalathang Airport

A domestic airport in Bumthang district (ICAO: VQBT), located at 2,670 m elevation in the Chhoekhor Valley near Jakar. The airport features a 1,200 m runway and serves as a vital air link for central Bhutan, significantly reducing the 8-10 hour overland drive from Paro. Druk Air operates scheduled flights between Paro and Bathpalathang using ATR 42-500 aircraft, serving tourists visiting Bumthang's sacred valleys and temples as well as local residents. Weather-related cancellations are common due to the valley's susceptibility to fog and cloud cover.
